So, with the long vacation, I'd been neglecting my blog. That time is over, and I have plenty to talk about.
For starters, I've left the dorms, moving in with a Japanese host mother for the next semester. Her name is Akiko, and she's very kind. We've been getting along really well, and she's an excellent cook. The house is in Mihara, up in the mountains near the Peace Park, so I have an excellent view. Moving day was a bit stressful, but I've since gotten settled in very nicely. Living in a traditional Japanese household feels more intimate than the dorms.
Classes have begun once again, and the new students have arrived. Plenty of new faces, though several old friends are here as well. Looking forward to learning more. I'm in Japanese 5 now, both scary and exciting. I'll post some pictures in a couple days, Mihara is lovely.
